Sheeba
Sheeba was the first family dog of Clan McNulty. A mutt, most likely a Collie/German Shepard mix, Sheeba was found as a stray by Debbie McNulty in 1984. She was a medium-sized dog (45 pounds) with collie coloring and shepard features, with a coyote-like bushy tail with a unique twist at the tip.
Life
Always a very even-tempered and mellow dog, Debbie quickly trained her in obedience and they became fast friends. Never a barker, you knew if you did hear her bark that something was wrong. Extremely obedient, she could easily be walked without a leash - a simple "heel" command being suffieient to keep her glued to your side. Kevin remarked once that he knew Debbie would be a good mother because she had such a well-behaved dog. Sheeba loved going for walks or rides, and frequently accompanied Debbie on her morning runs.
Death
According to best vet estimates, Sheeba was two when Debbie found her. In 1998, her health began to decline, and 16-years-old is a very full life for a dog of Sheeba's size. As her condition worsened, Kevin and Debbie made the decision to have her euthanized. Debbie said her good-byes, but just couldn't bring herself to stay. Kevin held her while the procedure was performed, comforting her as she went to sleep.
