The Mandarin Poker Tour (or MPT) is the name of the loosely-organized group of poker players in Jacksonville who meet regularly every second Saturday at Jon & Ro Reddick's house in Jacksonville, Florida starting in 2007.

MPT is the spiritual successor to the Killearn Poker Tour in Tallahassee, Florida.

Derivation

The name was a play on the World Poker Tour, a televised series of international poker tournaments featuring most of the world's professional players.

World was replaced with Mandarin after the name of the southern region of Jacksonville where the Reddicks live.

History

Starting the second half of 2008, the MPT players started league play. All players pay a league entry fee at the start of the six-month season, and then the top six performing players (statistically) play in a free-roll tournament at the end of the half, with the top three finishers splitting the pot which consists of all league fees and pot rakes from the past six months.
