Significance
Katella is the high school alma mater of REDdimension Wiki Circle member Kevin McNulty. He graduated with honors in 1982.
When Kevin started at Katella in 1979, the school served only grades 10-12. Freshman did not appear at Katella until Kevin's senior year. As a sophomore, Kevin competed with the school's speech and debate team and was a photographer for the school yearbook. In his junior year he played on the junior varsity badminton team. He attended his junior prom with long-time crush Rebecca Johnson. As a senior he worked with the wrestling team, producing the wrestling yearbook and videotaping matches...on a black and white reel-to-reel videotape recorder! He missed his senior prom, opting instead to attend his girlfriend Maria Thomas' senior prom at Canyon High School.
Kevin was in the Mentally Gifted Minor (MGM) program, taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in English, biology, history, and math (taking calculus as a senior). Kevin passed the AP tests in English and math, satisfying his general education requirements at Cal State Fullerton for both subjects. He also scored a 31 on the ACT in his senior year.
