Jon's History with Grass Valley
On April 30, 2007, Jon left his longtime position at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida, to begin work at the Thomson Grass Valley office in Jacksonville, Florida. At the time he was not an employee of Thomson, but rather a contract worker recruited by ATS.
On January 2, 2008, an offer was made for Jon to become a full-time regular employee of Thomson, but for a salary more than $10,000 below that which he had as a contractor. He declined, stating that he would not be able to stay on at anything less than his current contractor's annual salary.
On January 4, 2008, a second offer was made, for nearly $15,000 more than the first, and he accepted. His first day as a full-time employee at Thomson Grass Valley was January 7, 2008.
After the financial crash of 2010, Thomson divested itself of the Grass Valley brand which resulted in Grass Valley again being a standalone entity; dropping the "Thomson" from its name. Jon then worked for Grass Valley USA LLC.
On April 1, 2014, Grass Valley USA LLC was purchased by Belden and merged with Miranda, to form, "Grass Valley, A Belden Brand." At that time the signature logo was changed from green to purple, adopting the color from Miranda, but the name from GV.
On January 1, 2017, Jon transitioned from the service division of GV to the business unit. His official title became "Product Owner - News".
