"Gozners?" -- Jon Reddick

Origin

Gozners is less of a quote than a particularly notable misunderstood lyric.

Jon Reddick has been a fan of "Weird Al" Yankovic since first hearing I Love Rocky Road while in Middle School. He listened to the albums and learned the lyrics to the songs, eventually being more familiar with the parody lyrics than those of the songs they parodied.

Gozners originates from Like a Surgeon, based on Madonna's Like a Virgin.

One verse goes, "Better give me all your gauze, nurse, | this patient's fading fast."

Unknowingly, Jon had misunderstood a portion of the lyric, and never bothered to question what the nonsensical word he interpreted even meant, until one day while listening to the song with friend, Billy Gallinger.

Jon: "What's a gozner?"
Billy: "What are you talking about?"
Jon: "In the song. He says, 'Better give me all your gozners.'"

Billy erupted in a fit of laughter, and once recovered, explained the misunderstanding.

Usage

Years later, although he now knows the correct words, Jon will still sing along with that lyric using the erroneous, "Better give me all your gozners."
