Fictitious Reference

Downtime is the ship's lounge aboard the USS Khai Tam. Open to all crew members, officers, and civilians, the lounge is the social center of the ship while underway. Downtime's most popular bartender was the infamous Chuck "Shotglass" Basham, a man with little regard for anyone or anything except mixing the perfect drink.

While Downtime was created for the Technical Manual as a fictitious gathering place, the spirit of Downtime and its legendary bartender were very real in the heyday of the USS Khai Tam as a club. The presence of Shotglass' robe and blender at a convention announced the focal point for the ship's party efforts to all who knew the Khai Tam.
