Though discussion of changing this ship's motto occasionally broke out throughout the history of the club, the matter was only put to a vote once during the tenure of the Long command team. Literally dozens of suggestions were made, some serious and some amusing (many of which were or became Informal Ship's Motto), but in the end, the old motto was affirmed as ship's choice. It has remained uncontested ever since.
