While employed for close to a decade in the television industry and now as a field trainer to television stations, Michael, has the opportunity to visit, tour, and work with people at various broadcast television stations around the country.

  • FNC - Tallahassee, Florida
Michael was employed at FNC as a Master Control Operator. FNC was an independent station featuring 24 hour news across the state of Florida. This station is no longer in business.

  • WCTV - Tallahassee, Florida
Michael was employed at WCTV in many capacities, from Master Control Operator to Creative Services and everything in between. WCTV is a CBS affiliate and, in a strange twist of fate, is located in the old FNC building.

This was the first station Michael visited as a Field Trainer for Thomson Grass Valley. Michael trained at this station with Jeffery Taplin teaching the directors the Ignite digital switcher. WSOC is an ABC affiliate.

Michael was sent to WSPA to oversee the launch of the Ignite system. This was the first station he was sent to without another trainer. WSPA is a CBS affiliate.

WLUK was the first station Michael trained on Ignite start to finish. For his first full project station, he completed training on time and the directors performed near perfect shows during their launch. WLUK is a Fox affiliate and located a block from Lambeau Field.

WCMH was the site of a User Group forum just prior to O.A.B. (Ohio Association of Broadcasters). This was a three hour meeting with the folks at WCMH to discuss how Ignite was working for them and their media group. WCMH is a NBC affiliate.

Michael visited WIAT to help with an upgrade of Ignite. He was in Birmingham for four days. WIAT is a CBS affiliate.

News 12 New Jersey is a Cablevision station. Michael was sent to Edison to upgrade them from Parkervision to Ignite. News 12 News Jersey is also the pilot station of an updated version of Ignite, (called Ignite IQ) designed to make the use of Ignite easier.

News 12 New York is a Cablevision station. Michael was sent to Woodbury to upgrade them from Parkervision to Ignite. This was Michael's first trip to Long Island.

News 12 Westchester is a Cablevision station. Michael was sent to Yonkers to upgrade them from Parkervision to Ignite. Michael is slated to visit all of News 12's stations this year (2008). Part of the coverage area for this station is the famed Sleepy Hollow.

This was the first time Michael was sent to the West Coast to help a station with rehearsals and the launch of the Ignite system. KABC in located in the second largest market in the United States. This was Michael's first time visiting California.

This was the last of the News 12 Stations Michael visited. He was on hand at News 12 Connecticut to oversee the launch of Ignite.

Visiting Texas for the first while working for Thomson, Michael was able to enjoy some of the great scenery of Texas with views of Mexico while working with the fine folks at KFOX. Michael was there to provide additional training for the directors.

WLS is the second station within the Disney Group of stations Michael has visited. He is tasked with the training and transition to Ignite. This is the first time he was able to walk to station on a daily basis and in the snow, really.

Michael's visit to WRTV was for an upgrade the their Ignite system. This station covers a mulitude of sporting events including the Indianapolis 500, Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers.

In this visit Michael helped with the upgrade from ParkerVision to Ignite. According to one of the directors, Beth, this is the best station to which he has ever been assigned to work.

Michael's visit to KVVU was for a complete training session for the Ignite system. This was the first time Michael has made it to Vegas. The station is a Fox affiliate and was one of the easiest schedules Michael had to work.

Michael's visit to ABC Australia was the first time Michael traveled out of the country for a training session for the Ignite system. This marked the first time Michael witnessed foreign television first-hand. The experience was an unique opportunity to learn more about how different countries use the Ignite system to meet their broadcast needs. This also marks the twentieth station Michael has been to since working as a trainer for Grass Valley.
