KMOV
  • KMOV - St. Louis, Missouri
KMOV in St. Louis was a new Ignite installation where Jon spent several weeks in September 2010 training their personnel in operation, workflow and management of the system. KMOV had a very traditional news environment with both directors and technical directors for all newscasts, but both groups were merged into automation operators and received the same training.

  • News 12 Long Island - Woodbury, New York
News 12 New York is a Cablevision station. Jon traveled to News 12 in Long Island to assist in diagnosing and resolving issues around the installation of Ignite IQ at this facility. They had several "air-critical" technical and software issues, in addition to many other important but non-critical items. After three days, they had no more critical issues and were ready to prepare to take the system on-air. This was the first time Jon had ever set foot in New York state.
He returned again in March 2016 for several weeks to both install and train operators on some large-scale upgrades to the Ignite system.

WFSB
  • WFSB - Rocky Hill, Connecticut
Over the 2007 Thanksgiving week, Jon was sent to WHNS (along with friend and co-worker Eric Gardner) to provide general assistance with the station's new Ignite system. The station had only been on-air for a short time with Ignite and had requested Thomson engineers to be on-site while they became acclimated to the system. (This general assistance role is often jokingly referred to internally as "babysitting" a station.)

  • WFTV - Orlando, Florida
On May 21, 2009, Jon took a one-day road trip from his office in Jacksonville to Orlando to perform and upgrade to WFTV's Ignite system to the latest version. It was a slightly surreal experience, as he grew up watching WFTV as one of the four stations the antenna could pull in during his childhood in central florida.

  • WTXL - Tallahassee, Florida
During the majority of the time Jon lived in Tallahassee, he worked at WTXL's competitor, WCTV. But prior to his employment there, he visited WTXL on several occasions to work with its then director of programming, Janice Gargus, to coordinate fan events related to the USS Khai Tam, because at that time WTXL was the only broadcaster in the area to carry Star Trek. Additionally, both Jon and Ro taped an interview segment at the station in Trek uniforms to promote the Khai Tam.
He returned in August 2013 to perform an Ignite upgrade for his old rival.
