"It's just one more dollar." -- USS Khai Tam member Kevin McNulty

Origin

A regular feature at KhaiCon was a fundraising auction for the club. The auction was frequently emceed by member Kevin McNulty who enthusiastically encouraged bidding from the members. One year a particular item (the identity of which is lost to time immemorial) was being hotly contested, with bids steadily rising at a frenetic pace until only two bidders were left: George Sumpter and James Lewis.

The bidding was in increments of a dollar, and as the price got higher and higher, George got more and more hesitant. He would reluctantly bid and James would quickly outbid him. When George seemed ready to give up, Kevin said, "Come on. It's just one more dollar..." ("dollar" being pronounced "dallah"). Kevin easily talked George into half a dozen more bids this way. The members found it so amusing that Kevin used the line for the rest of the auction, and it developed into one of the club's many inside jokes.

Incidentally, James eventually smiled and let George have the item. He was just trying to drive up the price to make the ship more money.
