"One, two, three" is what Sage "Jack" Normand and Genevieve Normand (parents of Ro Reddick) would say to each other as a code for "I love you." This was taken from the song "Three Little Words" written in 1930 by Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar. Jack Normand use to play this song with his band beginning in the 1940's, and since the last line of the lyrics said, "Three little words, eight little letters, which simply mean I love you," he began telling his wife "One, two, three," or simply "three" for shorthand of "I love you."
