Significance

Maria was the high-school-sweetheart of REDdimension Wiki Member, Kevin McNulty. The two met in 1981 near the beginning of their senior year through a mutual friend. They fell in love and remained together until just before college graduation in 1986. The y broke up and got back together twice during this period, the first time in 1983 and the second in 1985, both for very brief periods.

During the time they dated, the two always agreed they were free to date others as well. Though he had no name for it at the time, this was Kevin's first foray into polyamory. Kevin dated several girls during this time, but none were as dear as Maria. Maria and Kevin talked of marriage and made many plans for the future. For her part, Maria never did date anyone else until near the end of her relationship with Kevin. She eventually left Kevin for the man she went out with. Kevin was devistated.

In hindsight, he could see how the polyamorous nature of their relationship highly suited Kevin, but never suited Maria. The end result was inevitable. Though Kevin would not explore polyamory again for many years, he would always remember the lessons he learned so painfully during his college years.

Maria graduated from Cal State University in 1986n with a bachelor's in Criminal Justice. She was working as a youth probation officer in Orange County, CA when last Kevin heard from het in 1988. He no longer knows her whereabouts.
