Sharon Whitman

Sharon Whitman, mother of Pamela Harper, was born in Akron, OH to Raymond Charles Gibson and Rita M. Gibson. She had one brother, Raymond Gibson. Sharon was reared mostly by her mother, Rita, after her father's death at the age of 52. Her father was the third person in the world to have angioplasty. Unfortunately, three days after his surgery, he died of infection. Sharon was 16 and her brother was 18. The death of their father caused Rita to become a stronger more independent woman.
