Origin

This phrase was first used by Kevin while watching his son climb a tree. He yelled up to his rapidly ascending progeny, "Be careful, I don't want to have a 'So there we were in the emergency room...' story to tell about this."

Usage

The phrase is now in general use amongst Clan McNulty, used by one family member whenever another engages in something falling into the "accidents waiting to happen" category.
