As the couple grew closer, though, living together became the favored option - despite the inevitable protest Debbie would get from her very traditionally-oriented father. As it turns out, Kevin asked Debbie's parents for their blessing to propose to her even before moving day, which had the fortunate side effect of lessening the impact of living together in the minds of the family.

For some time, Kevin kept his job with General Dyanmics Pomona Division some 50 miles north of the new home. Leaving at 5:00 a.m. every morning for work got old very quickly, though, and Kevin eventually found work closer to home.

Kevin lived in a two bedroom apartment in Anaheim with his friend and roommate Kata. Debbie lived in a two bedroom house in Upland to accomodate her dog, [[Sheeba]]. She shared the home with friend and roommate Tracy. Both Tracy and Kata wound up in the couple's wedding party.
