The [[USS ''Khai Tam'']]'s official ship's motto is "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for."

The motto is based on the famous quote, "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that's not what ships ''are built'' for." (need the rest of the origin story)

==Trivia==
Though discussion of channging this ship's motto ocassionally broke out throughout the history of the club, the matter was only put to a vote once during the tenure of the Long command team. Literally dozens of suggestions were made, some serious and some amusing (many of which were or became [[Informal Ship's Mottos]]), but in the end, the old motto was affirmed as ship's choice. It has remained uncontested ever since.
